We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Assistant.

The Sculpture School is the country’s leading centre for realistic human and animal sculpture. We teach novices and professionals alike the skills needed to create lifelike sculptures time and time again. Based in North Tawton on the edge Dartmoor, the School is currently seeking an experienced Sales Assistant.

Job Purpose:

You will be working with us to actively follow up on all opportunities generated through our ongoing lead generation programme.

A key aspect of this role will be to provide an excellent informed customer experience, using knowledge of the school, lead tutor Andrew Sinclair and the sculpture process (training will be given).

Basic Salary: Starting at £12 per hour plus 10% commission on confirmed and paid sales.

Starting date: Immediate.

Location: Hybrid, working from home with a minimum of three visits to The Sculpture School.

Hours: Flexible, minimum of 5 hours per week.

Term: 3-month trial period leading to 12-month contract with a view to extend.

Person Description:

  • Computer-literacy is preferred.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, time management, an ability to work independently and attention to detail are essential.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Sales and customer service:
  • Ensuring that customers receive a welcoming and positive experience.
  • Confidently discussing and providing information, initiating, and closing sales.
  • Handling general enquiries via phone and email.

Admin:

  • Maintain thorough records up to date e.g. clients spoken to, enquiries made by phone/ email/in person, courses sold, key tasks completed.
  • Assisting with planning and creating content for social media campaigns

After sales:

  • Processing sales
  • After sales follow up – up selling.

Some experience of working in a highly competitive sales environment and appreciation of the creative arts is preferred.
